Below are my most asked questions. If you don't see your question, please contact me.
A: I have some very creative clients, and they often know which direction the mural should take. On average, most ideas come from you! As we talk, and ideas start to flow, you may tell me that you like certain things and we put those ideas together in a rough sketch. Sometimes looking through books or magazines helps, and there is always the portfolio of my previous work. I always photograph my work, and keep a large portfolio, I keep it that way for two reasons: first, I like to see projects that I have done—my clients get to keep my work, but my photos are my memories! Second, as people turn the pages I see what entices them, and they can tell me which paintings or styles they really like. We have so many ideas to talk about that deciding on a plan has never been a problem!
A: Whenever I’m asked this question, I always ask a question in return: “What am I painting?” It is much quicker, for example, to paint a cartoon character than a real lion fish, and it takes more time to paint a garden view than a beach scene. This is how I’ve found it works best: I tell you how much I charge for a day’s work, and you tell me how much you planned to spend for the work. Then we come up with design ideas which will be sure to fit your decorating plans and your budget.
A: I use water-based paints, latex, and liquid acrylics, depending on what I am doing. All dry very quickly with minimal odor. For outdoor murals, or child playroom murals, to safeguard against any stains, the final step involves a topcoat sealer in your choice of finishes.
A: Yes, my paintings are washable. But as with any painted surface, you must never use anything abrasive or use a power or pressure washer. I recommend a soft, wet sponge, and a non-abrasive cleanser. For outside walls that are sure to get dirty in places like walkways a simple garden hose with your thumb on the end will remove dirt.
A: Yes. I often tell people I can return another time and add to their picture, especially when the budget is tight. I have returned to several murals to put in extras. Whatever the request, I’m always glad to see my clients again!
